GRADUATE BUILDING SURVEYOR AND/OR BUILDING INSPECTOR LIMITED
Situated in the heartland of the Murray Valley, Swan Hill Rural City Council boasts one of the most diverse and productive rural areas in Australia. The Rural City provides quality educational, hospital and sporting facilities and services, with major population centres in Swan Hill and Robinvale.
An exciting opportunity exists for a graduate (or near qualified graduate) to join our team of building control professionals based in Swan Hill. The position offers a lifestyle ‘green change' in a contemporary and stimulating environment. If you are seeking industry experience to augment your studies in building surveying this is a prime opportunity to start your career. You must have completed (or near completed) a recognized building surveying course of study and be available to work full time. The successful candidate will have an ambition to pursue a career in building surveying and will be supported by Council in this pursuit.
Applicants will have high level communication skills, be team orientated and committed to customer service. Whilst under the direct supervision of the Building Manager/Municipal Building Surveyor duties will include processing of building applications, inspection of buildings, regulatory compliance / audits and advice and customer service and be conversant with all aspects of building control legislation. A clear career path is available for the right candidate with an expectation that (if not already eligible for registration as a Building Inspector Limited) then within two years the person will be able to apply to the Building Practitioners Board for registration.
An attractive remuneration package within the range of $48,000 to $57,000 plus superannuation, relocation assistance, flexible work arrangements and professional development opportunities, will be offered to the successful applicant dependent on qualifications and experience.
