SWAN HILL RURAL CITY COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP

The Swan Hill Rural City Council invites applications for the Swan Hill Rural City Council Scholarship, to be awarded to students undertaking tertiary studies in 2009 in a field relevant to Local Government.  Of particular interest are students studying Civil Engineering or Information Technology with potential for permanent employment at the end of 2010.

Other fields of interest to Council are:

· Environmental Health

· Maternal and Child Health (applicants require existing nursing qualifications)

· Valuations

· Statutory (town) Planners

· Horticulture

· Environmental or Natural Resource Management

· Economic Development

· Tourism / Event Management

· Visual / Performing Arts

· and a number of other fields

The scholarship consists of $2,000 per annum and employment during the summer holiday period, and is designed to enable country students to experience the benefits of working for Local Government in Rural Victoria.

Applications Close: 4.00pm on Friday, 30 January 2009.  It is anticipated that interviews will be held on Monday, 9 February 2009.
