DRIVING PROGRAM OFFICER
Reporting to the Community Facilitation Manager, the Driving Program Officer will be responsible to setup a program where experienced drivers assist young indigenous people to achieve 120 hours of driving time prior to applying for their probationary license. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong partnerships between the youth, community, key organisations and Government agencies.
The position requires sound understanding of the history of Aboriginal community integration strategies and an empathy with, and comprehensive understanding of Aboriginal social and cultural issues relevant to a rural environment.
At a personal level Council is looking for proficient communicator and accomplished leadership skills with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and ages, particularly the youth. There will be clear evidence of the ability to deal with a variety of complex issues and projects concurrently and a commitment to outcomes.
Salary: Attracting approximately $28.00 per hour, this is a temporary part time position for 2 days per week for 11 months
