Robinvale’s historic Robinswood Homestead is to remain in Council hands following a decision at Council’s July meeting last week.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Economic Development Officer Claire Wiseman said the decision was great news for the community.
“Robinswood Homestead is an important historical landmark for Robinvale,” she said.
“It was the residence of the founding Cuttle family and showcases Robinvale’s history and its twin-town relationship with Villers-Bretonneux.”
A number of key recommendations as to the future of Robinswood were moved at the July meeting including the role of a Caretaker’s position at the homestead.
“Council also supported the role of the Caretaker at the homestead, including reviewing the role and establishing a formal user agreement as well as providing appropriate Caretaker accommodation,” Ms Wiseman said.
“The role of the Caretaker is central to the homestead, so it is further great news that the Council supported these recommendations.”
