With music, entertaining personalities and the chance to enjoy a hearty breakfast, the 29th Australia Day breakfast is sure to be a great morning out.
The celebrations, which have been coordinated by Swan Hill Rural City Council and the Australia Day Committee, will get underway at 6.30am on Monday 26 January on the banks of the Murray River at Swan Hill’s Riverside Park.
Locals and visitors alike are encouraged to come down and enjoy a cooked breakfast and be entertained by some fantastic performances.
Keeping the crowds enthused will be MCs Ian Witty and Arthur Graham, with actor and singer Ted Hamilton delivering the Australia Day address.
The morning’s program also includes entertainment from the Australian Youth Band, the Swan Hill Sing Australia Choir and the Mid Murray Flying Club.
Further adding to the entertainment will be the popular Golden City Pipe Band, which will make a return to this year’s Australia Day festivities.
Co-ordinator for the Australia Day Committee, Marie Schlemme said this Australia Day’s events would be memorable.
“The planning for the 2009 breakfast is going really well with everything in place for another fantastic Australia Day event.
“Although the committee works very hard to put the breakfast together, we couldn’t have done so much without the help of all the supporting organisations,” she said.
