Works for Stage 2 of Swan Hill's McCrae Street project continue at a steady pace, with initial drainage works to be completed by the end of this week.
The south side of the street, in the direction of Campbell to Beveridge Streets remains closed while the existing pavement is removed and is expected to remain closed until the end of July.
However, the north side of the road, for traffic travelling in the direction of Beveridge to Campbell Streets remains open.
Swan Hill Rural City Council's Director of Infrastructure David Leahy said the works were currently on schedule.
“The works are going along at a steady pace, and we do thank the community and local business for their patience while these works continue,” he said.
“We do remind travellers along the north-bound lane to take extra care when driving past the works, and to ensure they are mindful of speed restrictions and of contractors undertaking the works.
“Council will also continue to provide updates as to the progress of the McCrae Street works,” Mr Leahy added.
Once completed, the street will mirror those of Stage 1 of the McCrae Street project, improving parking facilities and the overall appearance of the street.
The McCrae Street Stage 2 works has been made possible through funding from the State Government's Regional Development Victoria under the Small Towns Development Fund.
