The Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery in conjunction with the Swan Hill Rural City Council is inviting artists to apply for the chance to publicly display their works as part of the 2009 Go North Arts Festival to be held from the 23 October to 1 November.

The Go North Arts Festival celebrates the dynamic and diverse arts and culture scene of Northern Victoria, involving communities that stretch from the Swan Hill region to New South Wales and Moulamein.

As part of this year's festivities, the inaugural Artists' Market will be held at the Art Gallery on the final day of the festival on Sunday, 1 November.

Go North Committee Member and event organiser Lorri Lambert said the Artists' Market provided regional artists with the chance to showcase their talents.

“Swan Hill has such a vibrant array of culture and heritage within the arts community that the Artists' Market promises something for everyone.

“This is truly an extensive art festival that takes in our whole region and invites outside communities to discover the talent produced in the North,” Mrs Lambert said.

In order to be eligible for selection for the market, artists must submit a completed application form.  Stalls cost $25 and include one trestle table, additional tables are available for hire.

“We would love to see as many artists on board as possible so we're encouraging our artists throughout the region to please ensure they submit an application form, available from the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery,” Mrs Lambert said.

For more information regarding the Go North Arts Festival please contact the Swan Hill Region Information Centre on 5032 3033 or 1800 625 373 or visit www.gonorthartsfestival.info.
