Economic Development Quarterly

Media Release

Thursday, 17 September 2009

Businesses throughout the Swan Hill municipality are reminded to keep their eye out for Council's Economic Development Unit's new newsletter, Economic Development Quarterly, posted and emailed to businesses this week.

A number of articles of interest to the business community are in the newsletter's first edition including an introduction to Council's Economic Development team, a snapshot of the Swan Hill Rural City Council population, an update on current Council projects, business profile and more.

Council's Economic Development Manager Jo-Ann Collyer said the newsletter aimed to keep the business community up to date regarding economic development and the initiatives being undertaken by the unit.

“Economic development plays a key role in Council through the expansion of the local economy, while also seeking to increase the wealth throughout the municipality,” Ms Collyer said.

“Having a quarterly newsletter will enable our local businesses to keep in touch with what we're doing as an Economic Development Unit to achieve these goals, but will also inform local business about initiatives and developments they may be able to get involved with.

“The newsletter also provides information on events and resources available for local businesses, upcoming seminars and workshops, services and other programs and events,” Ms Collyer added.

To subscribe to Economic Development Quarterly please contact the Economic Development Unit on 5032 3033 or email Claire Oswin, Economic Development Officer on coswin@swanhill.vic.gov.au.
