The life story of Vietnam War veteran Don Tate, including his controversial quest to get his platoon officially recognised will be under the spotlight when the author discusses his book The War Within at the Swan Hill Regional Library on Tuesday, 6 October 2009.
Through discussion and showing of films, Don will recount his life experiences, including raising his large family of siblings while his father was in prison, his time fighting in Vietnam, his life as a teacher and more.
Manager Cultural Development and Libraries Camille Cullinan said the talk would make for interesting listening.
“What Don has experienced during his life so far is extraordinary and his novel detailing these life experiences has been reviewed in many national publications,” Ms Cullinan said.
“Don is certainly an interesting man and those who visit the library to hear him talk will not be disappointed.”
Don Tate's talk will take place at the library on Tuesday, 6 October 2009 from 6pm until 8pm.
The event is free and light refreshments will also be provided.
