Swan Hill Rural City Council is inviting members of the community to attend an information session regarding the review of the Swan Hill Planning Scheme.

It is the second review of the scheme since its introduction in 1999 and Council would like to hear the thoughts of community members to ensure the planning scheme meets their needs.

Council's Planning Manager Ken Fulford said community information sessions would be held in both Robinvale and Swan Hill.

“Community members may have already identified suggested improvements to the Municipal Strategic Statement (MSS), which sets the framework for Council's ongoing planning and policy development activities, or with local policies,” Mr Fulford said.

“We are encouraging our community to ensure they gather their thoughts around the planning scheme so any suggestions can be easily documented at the community information session.”

The sessions will be facilitated by David Merrett from Isis Planning who has been appointed by Council to undertake the planning scheme review.

The Swan Hill session will be held on Monday, 8 February 2010 from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Swan Hill Town Hall, upstairs meeting room 2.

The Robinvale session will be held on Tuesday, 9 February 2010 from 6pm to 8pm at the Robinvale Community Centre Auditorium in Robin Street, Robinvale.

For further information, please contact Ken Fulford at Council on 5036 2333.
