Swan Hill is gearing up to welcome more than 100 delegates, as well as presenters and sponsors, when it plays host to the Livestock Saleyards Association of Victoria Conference 2010 from next Wednesday to Friday.
Sponsored by the Herald and Weekly Times, the conference will feature speakers from across the industry, discussing topics such as the Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewal Project (NVIRP), animal health, livestock management, industry training, animal welfare, the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) and more.
The conference, which will be opened by the Minister for Agriculture Joe Helper and will be held at the Swan Hill Town Hall PACC, will also feature trade displays, including cattle and sheep scanning equipment and services, livestock handling equipment, livestock identification and monitoring systems, access control and recording systems.
Swan Hill Saleyards Committee Chairperson Cr Bill Croft said the conference will also include a gala dinner, breakfast at the Swan Hill Livestock Exchange and a tour of the Andrew Peace winery and the Murray Cod aquaculture facility.
“This conference is a fantastic opportunity to not just highlight our region, but to also recognise the progress we are making with the Swan Hill Regional Livestock Exchange, in conjunction with the Livestock Exchange Consultative Committee's input and consultation, and the plans for the venue,” Cr Croft said.
“We are very much looking forward to hosting the delegation and showing what facilities our region has to offer to our visitors, including our primary industries.”
The Livestock Saleyards Association of Victoria Conference 2010 will take place from Wednesday, 4 to Friday, 6 August.
