The company that gave us the hit Menopause the Musical has a new show on the road – and it's coming to Swan Hill.
The hilarious Motherhood the Musical tells the stories of four mums – soon-to-be first time mum Amy, hard-working lawyer Brooke, stressed out mother of five Barb, and a single mum looking to balance work, family and her divorce, Tasha.
As every parent out there knows, having a baby is just the start.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Performing Arts Director Adrian Corbett said the show – which will be in Swan Hill on 17 April – would appeal not only to mothers, but those married to mothers as well.
“The real truth about motherhood all comes out – the nappies, the dirty washing, weight gain and stretch marks,” he said.
“You know it is going to be fun night out when you have songs like “I Leak”, which I can tell you is certainly not about runny noses.
“If you saw the funny side of the change of life in Menopause the Musical, then this show is for you.
“The other great thing about this show is that dads won't feel left out either – so grab your parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles for what promises to be a great family night out.”
Having received rave reviews during its 2011 Australian tour, Motherhood The Musical – written by award-winning singer/songwriter Sue Fabisch – features 20 songs including her Top 10 Billboard Comedy Hit ‘The Kids Are Finally Asleep'.
The show is touring nationally for 25 weeks in 2012 to capital cities, metropolitan and regional theatre venues throughout Australia.
