Bag of Books to help improve literacy |

Grade six children in 25 Swan Hill families will be introduced to the pleasure of books and reading through the new Bag of Books project. The project will kick off in 2012 as children are entering grade six, and aims to improve literacy skills not just for children, but for whole families.

Last cruising before Pyap’s dry dock |

This weekend is the last chance for cruising on Swan Hill's paddleboat Pyap before it goes into five weeks of routine maintenance and inspection. On Sunday after its 2.30pm cruise, the Pyap will go into dry dock for maintenance and for the regular February inspection of all vessels on the Murray River by NSW Maritime.
