Each financial year Council as part of its Major Projects Program carries out major infrastructure, cultural and social projects within the community.  Council generally commits in the order of $5,000,000 per annum towards major projects of which approximately $1,500,000 is grant funded.

Major projects are scheduled up to 10 years in advance, and can range in value from several thousand dollars to several million dollars.  The projects that Council undertakes are varied in nature and include marketing, infrastructure, natural resource management, parks and road projects.

Members of the public are invited to make submissions for major projects to Council using the Major Projects Application Form.  All submissions received from the public for major projects are reviewed on an annual basis.  Projects that Council considers fit within its 10-year projects review period and which can be funded are considered annually for inclusion in the plan.
