One of Swan Hill's most noted attractions, the Pioneer Settlement offers a full days entertainment for the whole family. Established in 1963, the Pioneer Settlement tells of life in the Mallee for our early settlers from the early 1800's to the mid 1900's. Visitors enter into a typical 1920's Mallee street complete with tearooms, lolly shop, music store and drapery. Activities include having a poster printed at the Echo Print Shop, dressing up in old fashion costume at the Photography parlour, and watching the blacksmith make horse shoes. You can chose to wander the site on foot or enjoy a relaxing drive around in our complimentary horse and cart and vintage car rides.
Murray river cruises aboard the PS Pyap and an evening Sound & Light show run daily.
The Pioneer Settlement is located on Monash Drive, Swan Hill and is open from 9:30am – 4pm everyday (except Christmas and Boxing Day.
