The program offers a range of home support services to the eligible veteran community based on the veterans' assessed need.
Services available include:
Domestic Assistance
Personal Care
Respite
Home and Garden Maintenance
Eligibility
All Gold Card Holders — This includes all war widows/widowers and veterans of the Australian Defence Force.
White Card Holders — Australian Defence Force Veterans, Commonwealth and Allied Veterans are eligible for accepted disability related respite care only.
Partners and carers may receive respite care if they are caring for an eligible veteran or war widow/widower.
Other cards such as pensioner concession or health care cards do not provide eligibility for Veteran's Home Care.
Assessments are carried out by qualified local staff following initial contact with the Assessment/ Co-ordination Agency.
The Aged and Disability Service is flexible in order to meet the varying needs and requirements of the client.
The Assessment Officer will discuss costs with during the assessment.
