Council's Authorised Officers are responsible for various aspects of animal control throughout the Municipality.  This includes the areas of responsibility outlined below.

The animals displayed on this page have either been picked up by Rangers and are looking for their owners.
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Authorised Officers also respond to complaints relating to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Authorised Officers are responsible for responding to complaints about livestock (ie. cattle and sheep)on road reserves.
Cat Responsible Pet Ownership
It is important that you practice responsible pet ownership at all times. 
Two Dogs Dog & Cat Registration
State Government legislation requires Councils to register and control cats and dogs over three (3) months of age. Consequently, if you are the owner of any cats or dogs over three (3) months of age, they must be microchipped and also registered with Council.
