Responsible Pet Ownership

It is important that you practice responsible pet ownership at all times.  Breaches of the Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Act 1994 can lead to the issuing of Infringement Notices, which are accompanied by a fine.  Fines are up to $567.00, for offences such as an unregistered dog or cat or registered dog or cat failing to wear Council registration tag outside owner's premises.  Your pet may also be impounded.  To release your dog or cat will cost you $40 plus $6.50 per day sustenance.

For further information please contact the Authorised officers at the Council on
(03) 5036 2346.
