The need for reticulated natural gas in the Swan Hill Rural City has long been established. The Loddon Mallee region is one of the last regions in Victoria to have reticulated natural gas, a cheap and reliable form of energy. Natural gas is considered essential to the region's development and prosperity.
With the need for businesses to remain competitive in a global marketplace, it is now appropriate to again address this infrastructure issue. We will be working with other Councils in Victoria and New South Wales to establish the case for extending a natural gas pipeline to this region.
The Economic Development Unit is conducting an audit of the energy needs of businesses in the Swan Hill Rural City Council—to complete the online survey please Click Here.
