Wetlands

Swan Hill Rural City Council is committed to improving water quality collected from urban runoff.

Wetlands enable this, and also provide habitat for macro and micro invertebrates as well as larger birds and reptiles. Wetlands have the added benefit of improving water quality by reducing sediment and nutrient loads in stormwater runoff

Wetland developments include

·  The main drain wetlands system in Milloo Street

·  Turtle Lagoon Lake Boga

·  Round Lake Lake Boga

·  Ephemeral wetland Steggall Park

These systems are currently under development providing the community with valuable recreational amenities.
