Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Health Department is responsible for investigating various complaints from the community relating to nuisances.

Council’s Health Department is obligated to investigate nuisances that occur within their municipality under the provisions of the Health Act 1958.  Under this Act a nuisance is defined as being dangerous or liable to be dangerous to health or offensive.  Offensive means annoying or injurious to personal comfort, as defined in the Health Act 1958.
