Car parking conditions change in Swan Hill CBD

New and replacement car parking metres will be installed in Swan Hill’s CBD next Monday, 25 July 2016.

The following changes will occur:

  • A new ticket machine will be installed in front of Logan and Hall Accounting in McCallum Street, replacing the older style parking meters.
  • Two new ticket machines will be installed on both sides of the centre median strip in McCallum Street between Campbell Street and Curlewis Street. This area was previously a two hour timed zone.
  • Two new ticket machines will be installed on the Woolworths side of Beveridge Street. This area was previously a two hour timed zone.

Council’s Director Development and Planning Adam McSwain said Council would take a proactive approach while motorists became accustomed to the new rules.

“Council understands motorists may not be aware of the change in parking conditions immediately, and will have officers on hand to assist and educate the public.”

Mr McSwain added that when using the ticket system motorists must ensure they display their ticket correctly.

“Drivers must make sure they place their ticket right way up on the dashboard and that it is clearly visible through the windscreen.

“Also, any community member that holds and displays a current disability parking permit does not need to purchase a ticket.”
