The Swan Hill Festival of Motorsport is gearing up to be one of the region’s biggest events.
To be held over the Melbourne Cup weekend, the three-day event will include drag racing, a motorbike ride throughout the district, Lions Club Show and Shine, Mallee Cruisers and more. These events will run throughout the day, leading up to the hotly anticipated Vehicle Showcase in the centre of Swan Hill on the Saturday night.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Mayor Les McPhee highlighted the numerous positives the festival would bring to the Swan Hill Region.
“This is the first year the event will be rolled out and it is set to become an ongoing signature event that will increase visitors to the region as well as overnight stays,” Cr McPhee said.
“We expect the event will continue to gain significant momentum over the next five years, showcasing Swan Hill as the new home of motorsport for Victoria.”
Council is currently seeking major sponsorship for the event, with some fantastic packages on offer.
Sponsorships range from $1,000 to $5,000, with the top package offering naming rights for the event.
The festival is expected to attract attendees from right across the country, providing businesses with an opportunity to advertise on a national scale.
A copy of the sponsorship proposal is available from the Swan Hill Region Information Centre or download a copy below. Applications close Tuesday, 19 July at 4pm.
