Guiding the way for new residents

Local businesses have a new tool to attract employees and welcome new residents to the region thanks to Council’s New Resident Guide for Swan Hill and surrounds.

Recently completely overhauled, the guide is an all-in-one information booklet or online resource for new or prospective residents looking to relocate to the region.

Covering a wide range of areas from sporting and recreation facilities to schools, healthcare and housing, the guide has been designed to assist local employers to attract potential employees and their families.

Council’s Director Development and Planning Heather Green knows firsthand the importance of this type of resource.

“Having just moved to Swan Hill a couple of months ago, I know it can sometimes be hard to find out up-to-date information on the area, the services available and who to contact.

“This guide gives you all the information in one place and will hopefully make the decision to move to our region easier and, once here, reduce the stress of transitioning.”

Ms Green added that a Robinvale New Resident Guide was also in the works, to help the various industries in the northern area of the municipality.

The New Resident Guide is available to download below and hard copies are available from the Swan Hill Region Information Centre.
