The Swan Hill Region Information Centre has kicked off the New Year with a new Facebook page. And to celebrate, they’re asking you to post your photos with Swan Hill’s Giant Murray Cod.

Swan Hill Rural City Council Economic Development and Tourism Officer Teresa Lever encouraged people to dig up and post old photos with the cod, or get creative with some new photos.
“What better way to launch our new Facebook page than by having some fun with this great local landmark?” Ms Lever said.
“Please pop down and snap a photo at the Giant Murray Cod, or share photos you have taken in the past with family or friends,” she said.
Ms Lever said people could post their photos on Facebook or Instagram with the #loveswanhill or #visitswanhill tags, call into the Swan Hill Region Information Centre, or email their photos to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The competition will run until Wednesday, 12 February and the winner will be announced on 14 February. The winner will receive one of the information centre’s adorable Murray Cod plushies.
“If you are sharing your photo by using our hashtags, please remember to ensure your post is public so we can see it,” Ms Lever said.
She said the Swan Hill Region Information Centre had launched its new Facebook page this week, and the response had already been strong.
“This page will be a great resource for visitors and for locals, so please jump on and like the page to keep up to date,” Ms Lever said.
“We will be sharing information about local events and attractions, and we hope the new page will give visitors and locals an online way to engage with information centre staff.”
