Swan Hill Rural City Council is encouraging local residents currently isolating that are in need, to reach out if they require assistance.
Council’s Director of Community and Cultural services, Bruce Myers said residents seeking support or advice should contact the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 398.
“In the first instance, please contact the COVID-19 hotline, you will be prompted to select from a range of options and directed to the relevant department.
Mr Myers said Council would be assisting vulnerable residents currently isolating, who have no other avenues of support available.
“We now have a local hotline in place, to assist people getting essential items – due to the volume of people isolating, the first question residents will be asked upon calling, is if they have avenues of support available to them,” he said.
Mr Myers said if residents are currently engaged with a local support service, please continue to engage with them.
Council will work closely to support agencies who are working around the clock to package and distribute much needed food and care parcels.
Mr Myers extended his thanks to the volunteers and support agencies working to ensure the demand for food and supplies is met.
