Swan Hill Rural City Council has awarded Beryl Lowe as their Australia Day, citizen of the year.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Mayor, Jade Benham said Beryl had made a significant contribution to the municipality over many years in many sectors.
“Every year we are amazed by the efforts of people within our community.
“Beryl is a truly committed citizen, this is displayed through her selfless approach and various roles held in the community. She has always been involved with and supported community participation – whether it is helping to fundraise, supporting those in need or providing transport for her own children and others to community sport , Beryl is always there and willing to get involved,” Cr Benham said.
Cr Benham congratulated Ms Lowe stating she was a very worthy recipient.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Beryl, such a worthy recipient of the 2022 Australia Day Citizen of the Year Award,” Cr Benham said.
No nominations were received for Event of Year or Young Citizen of the Year.
