Swan Hill Rural City Council is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Scott Barber.
Mayor Cr Jade Benham said Council had undertaken a national search in March this year for the critical appointment of our next Chief Executive Officer.
“Following an extensive and robust search and assessment process, a diverse shortlist of qualified candidates were interviewed for the position.
“Scott Barber was considered the stand out Executive to deliver on the Council Plan, engage with the wider community and enhance the culture within the organisation itself,” Cr Benham said.
Mr Barber will be joining Council and the Swan Hill community in early June 2022.
Mr Barber is a results-driven Executive with more than two decades experience developing and leading high performing teams within Local Government, utilities and services sectors.

“Scott is a proven strategic leader, who operates with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to delivering exceptional community outcomes,” she said.
Mr Barber is looking forward to taking on the new position in June.
“I look forward to working for and with the community, Councillors and staff at Swan Hill Rural City Council.
“It’s an exciting vision that the Swan Hill community has created for its future, and I look forward to being a part of the team that brings it to life.
As encapsulated within Council’s vision statement – our region will be a place of progression and possibility, we are a community that is happy, healthy & harmonious – we are empowered, we are respectful and we are proud,” Mr Barber said.
