Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Mayor, Cr Les McPhee said the proposed single-storey tourism and cultural hub would be a new purpose built entry for Pioneer Settlement, Visitor Information Centre and Aboriginal Cultural space, encompassing an experience on Pental Island.
“I want to assure the community that designs for this building will be subject to heritage approval and will be complementary to the current Pioneer Settlement setting.
“We are looking forward to getting ideas from the community – the focus group sessions aim to seek building design ideas and feedback, prior to initial building concept designs being prepared,” Cr McPhee said.
Cr McPhee encouraged all interested members of the community to get involved, by booking into one of the three sessions.
“Bookings are essential, as focus group session places are limited.” he added.
Cr McPhee said alternatively, community members could submit their ideas online, via Council’s Let’s Talk page.
