Mallee Almond Blossom Festival success
I recently attended the Mallee Almond Blossom Festival in Robinvale. Once again it was a successful event showcasing local produce in a fun and entertaining atmosphere.
I extend my congratulations to the organising committee and volunteers for their efforts.

The event will run from Friday through until Sunday, with an exciting mix of events throughout the weekend, including the FREE main concert event at the Swan Hill Town Hall PACC.
Go North Arts Festival offers something for all ages and skill levels – whether you chose to sit back and relax to the high-quality music or get messy in fun art workshops.

The Leisure Centre expansion projects are almost complete, and the new facilities is Swan Hill and Robinvale will be opening to the public, very soon.
The projects include a brand-new Dry Fitness room at Swan Hill Leisure Centre and a High Ball Court and expanded gym at Robinvale Leisure Centre. These facilities will provide a one stop shop for our community’s health and wellness needs.
I encourage residents to head along to one of the centre’s and check out the fantastic upgrades.
Swan Hill District Health Emergency Department
Last week I joined with Swan Hill District Health officials and fellow Councillors to welcome The Hon Mary-Anne Thomas MP, Minister for Health to the Region. Her visit marked the formal commencement of works, expected to be completed by 2025.
I extend our sincere thanks to both the State and Federal Government’s, the Swan Hill Needs a New Hospital Committee and all those involved in making this project a reality.
Welcome to the team, Whipper and Snipper
Sometimes we do get to have a bit of fun at Council, and our two new kids on the block have been just that.
Not only have our three rescued goats been an innovative and cost saving vegetation management project, but they have also been a great collaboration between our Parks and Gardens, Regulatory Services and Communications and Community Engagement teams.
Our goats received extensive community and media interest from our initial trial and since the expansion of the project (their cute little kids,) they continue to be popular.
Thank you to our community for joining in, we were delighted by the number of name suggestions that we received from the community, to help us name our two new goats.
Feedback has been collated and we are excited to formally introduce you to Whipper and Snipper.
Whipper and Snipper will now join Shayne, Gary and Jazz in our Parks and Gardens weed control team.
