The Fairfax Youth Festival returns this October, promising an enriching and fully-funded creative arts camp designed to inspire curious and creative teenagers.
Young people, aged 12 to 18, are invited to discover their creative voice and join Square Pegged, a transformative week-long creative arts camp where they can lead, create, and perform an original show.
The immersive experience will provide an opportunity to collaborate with professional artists, cultivate new skills, and craft an original performance from the ground up.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Les McPhee, said he was thrilled to see the popular festival return to Swan Hill bigger and better than ever.
“The Fairfax Youth Festival provides a wonderful opportunity for rural young people to tap into their creative voice, and every year we see it grow in popularity and support,” Cr McPhee said.
“I’d encourage everyone to spread the word about this fantastic program – tell you kids, your grandkids, even tell the neighbours kids!”
“The best part is, the program is completely free, which means any teenager with an interest in the arts can take part,” he added.
The Square Pegged Camp will occur in Swan Hill, at the Swan Hill Town Hall, with the young people camping at the Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement Lodge. The camp will take place from Sunday, October 1, to Sunday, October 8, 2023.
