Catalina Grill House set to make a splash in Lake Boga

Swan Hill Rural City Council is delighted to announce an exciting new chapter set to commence in Lake Boga with the successful transfer of the Boo’s Lakeside lease.

The popular venue situated alongside the Historic Catalina Museum will soon be known as “Catalina Grill House,” set to open in December.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Les McPhee said Council officers have been working closely with the Lake Boga Lions Club and Boo’s Lakeside to negotiate changes to lease arrangements.

“The venue has undoubtedly been popular for locals and tourists alike and it has been dearly missed, following the recent temporary closure – it will be great to see a new business up and running in time for the busy summer season.

“I can assure you that throughout the closure period, Council officers have been working hard behind the scenes to reach this positive outcome,” Cr McPhee said.

Council’s Director Corporate Services, Bhan Pratap said the new tenants, Luke and Karen Dear are set to breathe fresh life into the Catalina Cafe and come with a wealth of experience and a passion for creating a unique dining experience for the local community and visitors.

“They have outlined their plans to open the Catalina Grill House to the public around mid-December,” Mr Pratap added.

Luke and Karen Dear expressed their excitement about their new business venture.

“We are excited to transform the space into the Catalina Grill House and begin a new chapter for the Lake Boga community. A veteran owned business focusing on creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our locals and visitors to the community with simple food cooked well,” the new lesee’s said.

Cr McPhee extended his thanks to the Lake Boga Lions Club and Boo’s Lakeside, for their significant contribution to our local hospitality and tourism sector.

We congratulate the new lessee, and we look forward to supporting them during the transition.

As the opening of the Catalina Grill House draws nearer, the venue will release more details to keep the community informed.
