Season’s Greetings from Councillors

Mayor Stuart King

Best wishes to everyone in the Swan Hill Municipality and the region for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May your home be filled with joy, your heart with love and your life with laughter.

I trust you will find time to take a break and enjoy the company of family and friends in the festive season and be able to bless someone in need as well. Remember to support those who support your sporting clubs and community groups by shopping locally and eating out at one of our many great local cafes or restaurants.

As I reflect on 2023 there is much to be grateful for in our municipality and the opportunities it offers. Looking forward to 2024 Council will continue to do what it can to support the economic growth and development of our region and the wellbeing of its people.

Have a wonderful Christmas, be safe, be kind and bring on a prosperous 2024!

Councillor Les McPhee

Over the past 12 months I have been delighted to see exciting things happening in our municipality including new Leisure Centre upgrades, a brand-new laser light show experience, grant opportunities, spectacular light events, the launch of  Mully’s Place, more land released at Tower Hill, an increased focus on housing  availability, exciting new open spaces, new infrastructure, advocacy efforts and much, much more.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year and I look forward to continuing the important work of Council, alongside my fellow councillors over the next 12 months.

Councillor Jacquie Kelly

We all get excited at this time of year with most of us planning some holidays, summer fun, welcoming home family & friends and celebrating either Christmas or just the end of year together. Children have finished another year of schooling, sport, dance, hobbies and will be reflecting on success and challenges, and how to make next year even better. We have an abundance of amazing produce all around us. Let’s all look out for one another, be kind, be safe and make time to slow down and re-charge. Remember to support local business. Keep cool in the heatwaves predicted, perhaps consider planting a tree for future summers.

A big thank you to every volunteer, some that I have met, that has been part of making up the fabric of our wonderful, strong, and diverse community. Contributing your time and resources for the common good does not go unnoticed.

I hope you, like me, feel optimistic that 2024 will have a lot to look forward to. Peace to all.

Councillor Bill Moar

I look forward to 2024 and I am particularly excited for the physical commencement of several much-anticipated projects, including the Art Gallery redevelopment and our Tourism and Cultural hub buildings. I’ve got a feeling it is going to be fantastic year for our municipality. Here’s to growth, success, innovation, harmony, and the pursuit of peace. Let’s work together to strengthen our region even more.

I wish everybody a happy and safe Christmas, and a prosperous New Year. I hope you each get the chance to spend some quality time connecting with family members and those dear to you.

Councillor Nicole McKay

Wishing all of our community a Happy Christmas.

To all of the volunteers who contribute their time and energy, whether that be through Emergency Services, Community Support, Sporting Clubs, the Arts and supporting local events that enrich the region. Thank-you. Your efforts create the social life and safety of the place we call home.

To all First Nations families, respect and honour to your community and culture, and thank-you for sharing your rich heritage with us.

To all new parents, especially new mothers, congratulations on making your way through the first year of parenthood. It is a fabulously wonderful time, but also extremely challenging. Thank-you for nurturing the babies and children. We are nothing without you.

To new residents, welcome, and thank-you for bringing your skills and selves to the region. Hoping you enjoy a Happy Festive Season.

For all people working over Christmas and New Year, in health, security, and emergency services, thank you.

To everyone who has experienced loss this year, Christmas can be very hard, wishing you love and hope, from all of us.

I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

When you’re out and about be sure to support all of our local businesses and their staff. Make sure you checkout the new laser show at the Pioneer Settlement (discounted entry for locals) and the brand new Splash Park at Robinvale Recreation and Aquatic Centre. Wishing you all a wonderful and festive Christmas, and may the New Year ahead bring happiness, and exciting new opportunities!
