Immunisations

Council provides immunisations to the community at a morning and evening session every month.

Immunisations are also given to Year 7 and Year 10 students at secondary schools throughout the municipality. Adolescents of equivalent age outside the school setting are also eligible for these vaccines, which can be given at Council sessions.

Bookings are required for ALL immunisations

Flu appointments are now booked through the The Central Immunisation Records Victoria website. If you do not already have an account to login you can create one.

Vaccines available free of charge are on the National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule. All other vaccines must be paid for at the booking.

Children due for 12 month and 18 month vaccinations, must be of the appropriate age when they present.

Immunisation history request

Swan Hill Rural City Council keeps immunisation records for people vaccinated during our school programs and our open immunisation sessions. The records are kept for 25 years from the date of the last vaccination.

Please note: Early childhood and childcare services require an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register. History provided by Council or your GP will no longer be accepted.

National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule

The National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule is a series of immunisations given at specific times throughout your life. The immunisations range from birth through to adulthood.

All vaccines listed in the NIP Schedule are free. Eligibility for free vaccines under the NIP is linked to eligibility for Medicare benefits.

Immunisations given in accordance with the NIP and includes protection against:

  • Diphtheria
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping Cough
  • Haemophilus Influenza B
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Hepatitis B
  • Pneumococcal
  • Rotavirus
  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella
  • Meningococcal ACW&Y
  • Chicken Pox
  • Influenza (for eligible individuals)

Other vaccines can be purchased depending on availability.
