Mosquito Monitoring

Council’s mosquito monitoring and control program takes place from November until late April.

The program

  • Monitors water bodies for possible breeding of mosquitoes within a five kilometre radius of every town in our municipality.
  • Aims to prevent the spread of arbovirus (such as Ross River Fever and Murray Valley Encephalitis).

Mosquito awareness programs, including prevention of and protection from mosquitoes, are also run throughout our municipality.
