Community planning is a vital part of Council and is recognised in our Council Plan.
Community planning gives our community members a combined voice including the opportunity to put forward ideas for projects they feel are important.
This also helps Council learn what our community would like to see and be involved in.
Since the planning program started, 11 communities have developed their plans.
The plans are managed by community groups with the help of volunteers to carry out projects.
Plans are reviewed and updated around every 18 months, as decided by each community.
Municipal Community Plan
Council’s Municipal Community Plan also supports our communities around common issues such as:
- Building community strength through Transition Towns
- Supporting town entry signs
- Remembering our heritage
- Promoting our communities
