Council calls for stronger regional investment in State Budget

Council welcomed measures supporting households, farmers, and ongoing investment in health, education and housing. However, noted that the Budget lacks specific, targeted investment for regional communities at a time when municipalities like Swan Hill are facing growing pressures across housing, workforce capacity, safety and essential services.

More Kinder Hours Coming in 2027 - Enrolments Now Open

Families across the municipality are being encouraged to enrol now, with four-year-old children set to benefit from increased kindergarten hours from 2027, as part of a Victorian Government initiative.

Council addresses unapproved rooming house concerns

Council is taking proactive steps to address community concerns regarding residential properties being used as rooming houses without the appropriate permits.
In January, Council officers undertook a series of compliance inspections across properties identified through community reports which has resulted in a number of properties since becoming compliant.
