Scholarships are open to local students who:
- Reside within the Swan Hill Rural City municipality
- Have been accepted into (or are already enrolled in) an approved tertiary course
- Have a desire to work in rural Victoria after graduation
- Are willing to work with Council for at least 12 months after graduation, if a position is available.
We strongly encourage applications from First Nations and Torres Strait Islander students and from both new and continuing students.
Scholarships have previously supported students studying in areas such as:
- Maternal and Child Health (with existing nursing qualifications)
- Environmental Health
- Statutory (Town) Planning
- Civil Engineering
- Horticulture
- Risk Management
- Environmental Management
- Economic Development
- Venue Management / Theatre Technician
- Tourism / Marketing / Event Management
- Community Planning / Recreation / Project Management
- Human Resources
- Procurement
- … and other fields relevant to Council’s future needs.
