Resealing

Swan Hill Rural City Council’s annual road resealing program is now underway, with works set to continue across the municipality over the next two to three weeks.

The works form part of Council’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the region’s road network, ensuring local roads remain safe, reliable and in good condition for residents and visitors.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Stuart King said the resealing program was an important investment in preserving the municipality’s existing road assets.

“Road resealing plays a vital role in protecting the pavement from wear and weather damage, helping to extend the life of our roads and reduce the need for more costly reconstruction works in the future.

“The resealing process involves applying a new bitumen surface to existing roads to help maintain their condition and improve durability,” Cr King said.

Council’s Director Infrastructure, Leah Johnston said that residents directly affected by the works would receive a letter drop prior to construction commencing, outlining specific dates and expected work times.

“During the works, temporary traffic management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of both road users and workers. Motorists may experience minor delays and are encouraged to slow down, follow all signage and allow additional travel time where required.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation while these important maintenance works are carried out,” Ms Johnston added.
