Letter to Premier – ESVF Levy Freeze

Published on 04 June 2025

Dear Premier Allan,
Swan Hill Rural City Council has today written to Premier Jacinta Allan to acknowledge and welcome the Victorian Government’s decision to freeze the Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund (ESVF) levy for primary production properties at current rates.

In our letter, we also reiterated Council’s position that the ESVF remains an unfair burden on our broader ratepayer base, and we’ve urged the Premier to consider extending the freeze to include all rural communities.
