Swan Hill Rural City Council is thrilled to announce that it has secured a $225,000 grant through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program, proudly delivered by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).

Council’s Mayor, Cr Stuart King said the funding would support the creation of a dedicated off-leash dog park in Robinvale, offering a welcoming and secure space for local dogs and their owners to enjoy.

Council's Director of Development and Planning, Michelle Grainger, welcomed the grant and the opportunity to collaborate with the Robinvale community on the park’s location and design.

Ms Grainger said Council is seeking feedback from the Robinvale Community, especially dog owners, on where they would like to see the dog park, what design elements should be included and any other relevant comments that would help Council in the planning and delivery of a dog park within Robinvale.

"We look forward to working closely with residents to ensure this space is safe, accessible, and enjoyable for both dogs and their owners," Ms Grainger said.

She also noted that the off-leash dog park was identified as a priority within the Robinvale Riverfront Masterplan, which was developed in close consultation with the local community.

Cr Stuart King said to help shape the final location and design, Council would host a community feedback session on Thursday, 18 September 2025.

“Residents - along with their furry companions are invited to come along and share their ideas. Feedback sessions will be held from 12pm to 2pm on the lawns of the Robinvale Community Arts Centre, 37 Robin Street, opposite the river.

“Any community members that are unable to make the in-person session are invited to share their thoughts at our Let’s Talk page,” he said.

Consultation will remain open until 5pm on Friday, 3 October 2025.
