The community is invited to come together and celebrate culture, music and food at Swan Hill Harmony Day, a free family-friendly event taking place at Riverside Park from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday 21 March 2026.

This vibrant event celebrates the many cultures that make up the Swan Hill community and offers an afternoon and evening full of entertainment, food and activities for all ages.

Swan Hill Regional Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said Harmony Day is a wonderful opportunity for the community to connect and celebrate the diversity that makes the region special.

“Harmony Day is all about bringing people together through culture, music and food.

“It’s a chance for our community to celebrate the many cultures that make Swan Hill such a welcoming and vibrant place to live,” Ms Cullinan said.

This year’s event will feature food stalls representing 12 different countries and cultures, offering a wide range of flavours to enjoy. Popular favourites such as Afghan Tucker, Nigeria, South Korea, Italy and India will return, along with several new food stalls including the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Malaysian Indian cuisine.

“The food is always a highlight of Harmony Day, with 12 different countries represented this year, there will be something for everyone to try, from returning favourites to some exciting new cultural dishes” Ms Cullinan said.

The event will also feature a rich program of multicultural performances, including singer Eka, an Indian Kathak dance, Fijian singers, a Tongan dance group and a Filipino choir.

“We’re especially excited about the Traditional Dress Parade this year, we encourage everyone to wear their traditional attire and take part in the parade as a way of proudly sharing and celebrating their cultural heritage,” Ms Cullinan said.

There will be plenty of activities for all ages, including dance, drumming and performing arts workshops, games and children’s activities. Participants who take part in the drumming and performing arts workshops will even have the opportunity to perform on stage at the end of the evening.

“Harmony Day is designed to be interactive and inclusive.

People won’t just be watching the performances – they’ll also have the chance to get involved, learn something new and even perform on stage,” Ms Cullinan said.

Swan Hill Harmony Day is an alcohol-free event with free entry, and everyone in the community is warmly invited to attend and celebrate diversity by the river.
