A Neighbourhood House is just that - a house for the community to belong to. They are special because they are managed for, and by, the community. In other words, decision-making on management policies and procedures is shared by the voluntary Committee of Management, group participants, volunteers and workers at the centre. These, of course, are the people who best understand the diverse needs of the community.
