Swan Hill Library is inviting the community to take control of their digital life with Unsubscribe Day, a free, hands-on session designed to help people reduce spam, junk mail and unwanted subscriptions.
Held on Safer Internet Day, the sessions will guide participants through simple steps to unsubscribe from promotional emails and tidy up their inbox. Cutting back on unnecessary emails doesn’t just make life easier — it can also help reduce digital energy use and the environmental footprint created by storing and sending millions of messages.
Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said the sessions offer practical benefits for both people and the planet.
“So many websites ask us to subscribe just to make a purchase or access content, and before we know it our inboxes are overflowing,” Ms Cullinan said. “Unsubscribe Day is a friendly, relaxed way for people to regain control of their emails, pick up a few useful digital skills, and make a small positive impact for the environment at the same time.”
Unsubscribe Day will be held at Swan Hill Library, 53 Campbell Street, Swan Hill, on Tuesday 10 February 2026, with sessions from 10–11am and 2–3pm. The sessions are free and open to all ages, with 15 places available per session. Free Wi-Fi and light refreshments will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own device.
Bookings are essential. Contact Swan Hill Library on 03 5036 2480 to secure a place.
