Local businesses are invited to attend Swan Hill Rural City Council’s upcoming Doing Business with Council information sessions, designed to help suppliers and contractors better understand how to access and secure Council contracts.
Mayor, Councillor Stuart King said the sessions are a great opportunity for both new and existing businesses to gain practical insights into Council’s procurement processes.
“We want to see more local businesses putting their hand up for Council projects,” Cr King said.
The sessions will cover how to find local contract and supply opportunities, register as a preferred supplier, prepare successful quotes and tenders and improve your chances of securing Council work
“These sessions are about breaking down the process, showing local suppliers how to find opportunities, prepare competitive quotes and tenders, and improve their chances of successfully working with Council,” Cr King said.
Council staff will be on hand to answer questions and explain how the procurement process works in detail, light refreshments provided.
As part of this process Council will also be launching feedback online for the procurement process. This will help us better understand supplier experiences and identify areas for improvement. Details will be provided at the sessions.
