Swan Hill Rural City Council has released their Draft Council Plan and Community Vision 2025-2029, that incorporates our Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan, for the community to review - marking the final stage of consultation before adoption.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Stuart King said the Council Plan was one of Council’s most important strategic documents, setting the direction for the next four years.

"Every new Council term begins with a fresh plan that clearly sets out Councils goals, priorities and actions.

“This is about ensuring Council continues to meet the needs and expectations of our community in a transparent, practical and ambitious way,” Cr King said.

The Draft Council Plan was developed through extensive community engagement and robust research. More than 500 people took part in surveys, workshops and consultations, while 64 young people shared their ideas through colourful drawings.

"We’ve listened carefully to residents, businesses and community groups about what matters most, and this plan reflects those conversations - from supporting local jobs and strengthening liveability, to protecting our environment and continuing to deliver high-quality services.

“We’ve also included items, as required by the State Government,” Cr King said.

Cr King extended his sincere thanks to everyone who shared their ideas and feedback.

“Your input has guided this document every step of the way. Now, we’re asking for your involvement one last time before the document is finalised - please review the draft, share your thoughts, and help shape the final plan. This is your plan and together, we can bring it to life,” he said.

This consultation will be open until Tuesday, 2 September 2025.
