Mayoral Statement – Robinvale Hotel

Robinvale hotel

Council understands the high level of community interest in the planning application for a demolition permit in relation to part of the fire damaged Robinvale Hotel, which is covered by the Heritage Overlay (HO99). As previously advised, we have commissioned an independent heritage assessment to help inform Council’s decision on this application.

Unfortunately, there has been a delay and Council has not yet received the final heritage report.

Given the importance of this document in supporting Council’s consideration of the matter, the item will not appear in the Council Agenda papers for the upcoming 20 May meeting.

Council is committed to a transparent and informed process, and we will advise all objectors and submitters, accordingly, noting we had initially communicated that this matter was to be considered next week.

Council appreciates the community’s patience as we await the independent advice required to properly consider the heritage implications of this application.

Mayor, Cr Stuart King
