Radiating from the rural, cross-border town of Swan Hill, SHSG is an incorporated, not-for-profit community organisation whose purpose is practicing, promoting and advocating for decisions that care for the Earth, and sustainable ways of living, including:

• Safe climate and clean energy,
• Local and sustainable food,
• Nature, Biodiversity, Healthy Rivers and Landcare,
• Waste minimisation and healthy living.

Our history

SHSG, formerly (Sustainable Living In the Mallee/SLIM) has had a long history collaborating with the Swan Hill Rural City Council since our establishment in 2009, as an amalgamation of previously existing groups.

Completing several successful projects together including '1000 Rooves', Swan Hill West Landcare pest control works and ongoing Urban Riverfront Enhancement.

Successful events include Climate Action Forum (2023), and  River Peoples Forums (2022 and 2024).
