Swan Hill Rural City Council is proud to share key achievements and milestones from the 2024/25 financial year. From major infrastructure investments to community celebrations, here’s a snapshot of how we’re delivering for our region.

Congratulations!
To Debbie Hayward for her winning entry ‘Peace and Tranquility’ taken in the Nyah State Forest. Her winning snap will feature on the front cover of the 2024-25 Annual Report. A small exhibition of entries is currently being held by the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery.
Welcome!
Fifty new Australian citizens were officially welcomed into our municipality this year, with individuals from seventeen different countries - adding to the vibrant multicultural fabric of our community.
Road maintenance paves the way
Built on last year’s works with a larger road maintenance program, delivering safer and improved road conditions across the municipality.
- 245,237m² of bitumen resealing (+8%)
- 11,535m² of asphalt patching (+17%)
- 1,144km of unsealed road grading (+42%)
- 4,820 pothole and edge break repairs (+11%)
- 1,752 line marking and signage jobs (+46%)
Investment in our region
- We’ve secured a whopping $13.8 million in grants, since July 2024, from a variety of State and Federal Government funding programs, to enable the delivery of new or improved infrastructure and facilities. This is a significant record of investment in our municipality.
- $185,000 in Community Grants allocated to local groups and projects to support community programs and events.

There’s been strong rise in community engagement via our Let’s Talk platform.
- Over 35,000 views on projects
- More than 2,600 community contributions

Housing action
We’re tackling regional housing challenges!
- Released Stage 15 at Tower Hill
- Completed four new homes in Robinvale
- Set a bold target to build 500 new homes within five years
- Commenced construction of 10 key worker homes in Robinvale
- Endorsed the Housing Action Committee Supported an Investment Model Working Group to attract private investment and accelerate home building
A greener future
- The opening of the Ultima Compost Facility represents a strong and practical step towards a cleaner, greener future for our municipality and beyond. The facility will initially process up to 1,200 tonnes of garden organics each year.
- The completion of the 2024/25 Tree Planting Program included over 400 trees being planted across the municipality.
Community facilities in use
- Town Hall: 21,652 people across 266 functions, shows and events.
- Libraries (including mobile library): 55,406 visits; 13,242 attendees at activities and events; 108,047 items borrowed.
