Ultima Compost Facility

Our Ultima Compost Facility has been officially opened. The facility will process up to 1,200 tonnes of garden organics each year, however it has been purposefully designed with future expansion in mind.

The new composting system incorporates modern, environmentally responsible technology — including a rigorous green waste inspection and decontamination process, and an aerated pile system that precisely regulates temperature and moisture to optimise composting efficiency and safety.

This is a milestone project that represents a bold step forward in the municipality’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and regional leadership.

Thank you to our volunteers

We recently paused to celebrate National Volunteer Week and acknowledge the incredible contribution of volunteers across our municipality. Volunteers are vital to our success — generously giving their time, skills, and energy to support our teams, enhance services, and make programs more accessible. Their impact is felt in meaningful, lasting ways throughout our region. To every volunteer: thank you for the difference you make.
